Emergency tree service
A tree came down. Here's what happens when you call.
- Phone answered any hour
- Site made safe first
- Insurance photos before cutting

Emergencies around here usually follow a lake storm: a gust line in summer, an ice storm in December, or heavy wet snow in March that splits a maple down the middle. The call often comes at night, and the phone is answered 24/7.
The first job is making the site safe: getting weight off a roof, clearing a path out of the driveway, or cutting a hanging limb before it lets go. Full cleanup and storm debris removal follow, along with stump grinding if the tree came out at the roots.

What we handle in an emergency
The order of work is always the same: people first, then structures, then the cleanup.
Trees on roofs
Sections cut and lifted off the house in an order that doesn't let the load shift onto rafters.
Trees on vehicles
Weight removed carefully so the car can be pulled out and photographed for the claim.
Blocked driveways and roads
Trunks and limbs cut and moved so you can get in and out.
Hangers and split trees
Broken limbs caught in the crown and half-failed trees taken down before they fall.
What to do while you wait
Do
Keep people and pets out of the area, take photos from a safe distance, and call your insurance company.
Don't
Don't go near any wire touching the tree, don't climb on the roof, and don't start cutting a trunk under tension.
When it's an emergency
Call right away if:
- A tree or big limb is on the houseEven if the roof looks fine from outside.
- A tree is on a car or blocking the driveYou may need to get out, or let emergency vehicles in.
- A tree is leaning more than it did yesterdaySoil heaving at the base means the roots are failing.
- A broken limb is hanging in the crownHangers can drop with the next gust.
- A tree split down the middleHalf a tree is unstable and can fall either way.
Safety first. Treat every downed wire as live. Stay at least 30 feet away and call Penelec or 911. We can't start until the utility clears any line in the tree.
