Lake City is a small borough right on the Lake Erie shore, next to Girard and the mouth of Elk Creek. Wind off the lake shapes the trees here more than almost anywhere else in the county.

What we do
Lakeshore trees in Lake City take a beating from wind and ice. Storm cleanup, deadwood removal and taking down damaged trees are the main jobs.
Most requested Whole trees taken down in sections when space is tight, or felled in one piece when the yard allows it.

Tree work in Lake City
Trees near the bluff and along Route 5 are often bent by years of wind from the lake, with heavy limbs on the sheltered side. Those uneven crowns are more likely to fail in a strong storm.
Around the Elk Creek valley, slopes and erosion can loosen roots. A tree that starts leaning toward a house or the creek should be looked at quickly.

Why Lake City calls us
Lake City is a quick trip west along I-90 or Route 5. We know the wind and ice issues lakeshore properties deal with.
How a job runs
Tell us the town, roughly how tall the tree is and what sits underneath it: house, garage, wires, fence. A couple of photos let us plan before anyone drives out.
Someone walks the site, checks the lean, the trunk and the drop zone, and explains how the tree would come down. You get a price before a saw starts.
The crew climbs or sets rigging, brings the wood down in controlled pieces, then rakes and blows the area. Wood and brush handling is agreed up front.
Lake City trees
A lot of trees people want gone can stay. Thinning the crown lets wind pass through, cutting back the limbs over the roof removes the risk, and a cable can support a weak fork. If the tree is healthy and well placed, pruning is usually the cheaper answer.
Removal makes sense when the trunk is hollow or cracked, the roots have lifted, more than half the crown is dead, or the tree is an ash in decline. We'll tell you which side of that line your tree is on and why.

Ice and spray off the lake can coat branches in winter. Thinning the crown and removing weak limbs reduces the load and the chance of breakage.

Signs a tree needs attention
FAQs
Not sure what the tree needs? Call and describe it. That's usually enough to know the next step.
Not by itself; many lakeshore trees grow that way. It becomes a concern if the lean suddenly increases, roots lift, or there's a crack in the trunk.
Yes, with care. Bluff trees are usually lowered in sections, and we avoid disturbing roots that help hold the slope where possible.
Stay out from under trees with broken or hanging limbs, then call us to remove hangers and clean up.
