What we do
Most calls come down to one question: what's under the tree if it falls? Roofs, wires, sheds and driveways decide whether we fell it, climb it or lower it piece by piece.
Most requested Whole trees taken down in sections when space is tight, or felled in one piece when the yard allows it.

Leftover stumps ground below the grass line so you can mow, plant or lay sod over the spot.

Ask about any tree
Some calls are simple: a dead pine in the back corner of the lot. Others are not: a silver maple with a split leader hanging over the garage and the service drop. We handle both, from full removals and crown trimming to stump grinding once the wood is gone.
Before anything is cut, someone looks at where the tree leans, what the trunk looks like at the base and where every piece is going to land. That plan decides whether we fell it, climb it or rig it down, and it keeps the house, fence and lawn in one piece.

Why call us
Lake-effect snow, ice and wind off the water put a lot of weight on Erie County trees. We plan each cut around what's below it, keep the phone on all night for the bad ones, and leave the yard raked when we're done.
How a job runs
Tell us the town, roughly how tall the tree is and what sits underneath it: house, garage, wires, fence. A couple of photos let us plan before anyone drives out.
Someone walks the site, checks the lean, the trunk and the drop zone, and explains how the tree would come down. You get a price before a saw starts.
The crew climbs or sets rigging, brings the wood down in controlled pieces, then rakes and blows the area. Wood and brush handling is agreed up front.
Trim or remove?
A lot of trees people want gone can stay. Thinning the crown lets wind pass through, cutting back the limbs over the roof removes the risk, and a cable can support a weak fork. If the tree is healthy and well placed, pruning is usually the cheaper answer.
Removal makes sense when the trunk is hollow or cracked, the roots have lifted, more than half the crown is dead, or the tree is an ash in decline. We'll tell you which side of that line your tree is on and why.

Pruning · deadwood · clearance
Regular pruning does more than tidy a tree. Dead and crossing limbs come out before they fall, branches over the roof are cut back, and the crown is thinned so heavy wet snow and lake wind have less to grab.
For most leafy trees around here, the stretch from November to March works well: the leaves are off, the structure is easy to see, and the ground is often firm enough for equipment.

Signs a tree needs attention
FAQs
Not sure what the tree needs? Call and describe it. That's usually enough to know the next step.
Small, open-ground trees, maybe. Anything that can reach the house, a wire or the road is a different job: trunks shift and pinch saws, limbs kick back, and a hung-up top can drop without warning. If a tree touches a power line, stay away and call Penelec first.
Generally the owner of the land the trunk stands on. In Pennsylvania a neighbor may usually trim branches that hang over their side, but shouldn't damage or kill the tree. If you're unsure, talk to your neighbor before the work and get any agreement in writing.
Height, trunk size and what's underneath drive the price far more than the species. A pine in an open backyard is a quick job; a big silver maple leaning over a roof needs climbing and rigging. We price it after looking at the tree, and photos help us give you a ballpark first. Any running discounts are on the coupons page.
Stump grinding is a separate service you can add. Some people keep the stump as a base for a planter; most want it ground so they can mow over it. Ask for both prices when we quote the removal.
Yes. Holidays and storm nights included, somebody picks up. Call any time a tree or big limb is down or hanging.
That depends on the job and what you want. Brush can be run through a chipper and logs cut to manageable lengths or hauled off. Tell us up front if you want to keep firewood so the crew cuts it to length.
